Welcome to the Slide Technologies Company. We have been serving the machine tool and manufacturing industries for 16 years helping solve their wear and friction problems on many sliding and rotating components. We have designed an effective castable process using a high tech formulated polymer material. This process can be used on precision bearing surfaces, which require very high accuracies and high strength capabilities.

This formulated polymer has some very unique qualities that allow for precision mating and fitting of two components.

Mirror Image capabilities, which allow the material to replicate 100%. This feature adds versatility to the precision fitting process.

Zero Shrinkage allows alignments of components to remain as cast.

High Compression Strength. This formulated polymer is rated at 19,000 lbs. per square inch support.

Low Friction qualities enhance performance of bearing and eliminates excessive wear due to friction. Low friction coefficients have been documented from 0.025 to 0.100 depending on application and loading.

Superior Adheshion qualities are established by family association. This formulated polymer matrix is in the epoxy family and has tremendous adhesion traits.

 

 POLYMER ELIMINATES BALL BEARINGS

We have successfully designed, developed and tested polymer applications which eliminates the rolling element (ball bearing) in some machine tool components.

Ballscrew Assemblies can be remanufactured to perform as designed without the ball bearings. We have developed a process to replace the ball bearings in this assembly with the polymer material. In most cases we can save assemblies that other companies would classify as scrap. This process can increase longevity and produce a huge cost savings over conventional methods. The cost savings realized can be as high as 60% as compared to replacement or other methods of remanufacture. We also offer a 36-hour turnaround service in which we will ship the assembly back completely repaired with 36 hours of receipt; this also generates a cost savings due to less production downtime. click here for more details   

Linear Bearings can also be remanufactured with the elimination of the ball bearing. The bearing truck can be fit to the bearing rail with this high strength, low friction polymer. click here for more details    

Roller Bearings and Ball Packs can be replaced with a version manufactured with our low friction polymer matrix. Benefits include: longer life, vibration dampening and higher rigidity. The low friction values of this product matrix allow a direct replacement, no need to change anything but the bearing itself.

SLIDE --- WAY BEARINGS

We also manufacture and repair all types of slides for machine tools; any sliding precision fit surface is a candidate. With the use of this low friction polymer, we can eliminate--- 90% to 100% of the hand scraping necessary to achieve precision fits. Fast turnaround times are our specialty, without sacrificing quality.

Quill bores can be refit with this polymer to establish new accuracies and rigid stable bearing surface.

Gibes and backstraps can be resurfaced providing a new low friction-bearing surface. In fast, if the correct taper is known, we can mold the polymer onto the worn gib to its correct taper restoring the gib and eliminating most fitting on site.

Rotary tables that have plain bearing ways can be restored and refit with our low friction polymer.

Acme Screw and Nut assemblies can be manufactured to replace worn assemblies. If you send us your worn assembly, we can manufacture a new screw, for most any lead and pitch. Using the old nut body with some preparation to accommodate our polymer material, we can cast new threads into the nut body. This process provides close tolerance accuracies because of the zero shrink mirror image qualities of the polymer matrix.
